COMMITMENT IN ACTION

Cormorant Garamond is a classic font with a modern twist. It's easy to read on screens of every shape and size, and perfect for long blocks of text.

Balanced. Firm. Fair.

Emilia currently serves as an Assistant District Attorney (ADA) in the 15th Judicial District, where she has built a reputation for thoughtful judgment and steady leadership in domestic violence cases. Since joining the office in 2014, she has not only worked to secure justice for victims, but also helped her colleagues stay at the forefront of legal practices through ongoing training. Her responsibility for the Bond Forfeiture Division gives her direct, practical experience with the day-to-day operations that keep the court running smoothly and in line with the law.

Over the past year, Emilia has brought a thoughtful, steady presence to her role as Magistrate in Scott City Court, where she handles a wide variety of cases, from traffic violations to misdemeanors, ensuring fairness and clarity in the courtroom. Before this, as an ADA in the Family Violence Unit at the 24th Judicial District, she managed complex felony domestic violence cases, offering guidance and support to victims when they needed it most. Emilia’s proven record of fairness, leadership, and deep knowledge of the law make her exceptionally well-prepared to serve as the next City Court judge.

Outside of her professional life, Emilia is deeply involved in her community. As a member of the Fatima Parents’ Club Board, she actively helps shape school activities and programs. Through Junior League, she’s contributed her time to a range of local non-profits, lending a hand where it’s needed most. Drawing on her broad experience and commitment to service, Emilia looks forward to serving on the bench and helping make justice accessible and fair for everyone in Lafayette.
